New Settings folder in Menu:
Add an SFX source folder
Add an SFX assets folder
This way, whenever you create a new project you can select whether you want to add SFX and/or assets to the project. In order to save disk space, this will not actually copy all assets and SFX , but generate a short link in you project to the SFX and Assets folders. This way you can manage them in 1 place but access them straight from the project folder.
Project date:
You can now enter the project date (the date on which the video project takes place)
Deadline settings
In the settings menu, you can enter a default deadline (for example 12 weeks). Now, whenever you enter a project date, the deadline will automatically set to 12 weeks from project date.
You can also change each deadline manually within the project details window (so the individual window of each project). Simply, by clicking on the dates and entering the date you want. You will also see a countdown in the amount of days left.
Sorting of All Projects Overview
All projects overview is now sorted based on the projects with the highest urgency going off of the deadline.
Custom Folder Templates
You can create and adjust custom folder templates. It’s also more user friendly than in previous versions.
Overall
We fixed some minor bugs and worked on improving the speed and weight of the tool. Also we made the tool more user friendly.
Memory
We have incorporated a folder with .json files that makes it possible to ‘remember’ all your projects and custom folder templates whenever there will be a new update.
Step 1: Download the Update Download the new version file (e.g., Media_Organizer_v3.1.zip) provided to you and save it to a familiar location, like your Desktop or Downloads folder.
Step 2: Unzip the File Right-click the downloaded .zip file and select “Extract All…” or “Unzip”. This will create a new folder containing the updated application files.
Step 3: Replace the Old Application
Navigate to the folder where you have the current version of the Media Organizer stored.
Open the newly unzipped folder from Step 2.
Drag the new MediaOrganizer application file from the unzipped folder into the folder with your old version.
Your computer will ask if you want to replace the existing file. Choose “Replace” to complete the update.
Step 4: Launch the Tool That’s it! You can now run the Media Organizer.
Important!! Please do not move, rename, or delete this folder or its files:
Folder name: The Media Organizer
MediaOrganizerSettings.json
MediaOrganizerTemplates.json
.projects.json (this file may be hidden by your operating system)
Leaving these files in your Documents – The Media Organizer folder ensures that every new update can instantly find all your work. If you come from one of the first versions, you will most likely not see your previous projects in this tool. We’re sorry for that, but that’s exactly why we have created this new feature, in order to make sure that won’t happen again with future updates.
In this case, a quick work around will be creating the projects you already have one more time within the new version. Then drag all the folders from your old project to this new project. Now everything should be visible in the new version of The Media Organizer.
